To get things rolling, here's a simple challenge: Post a palette that is representative of your favorite song. Explain why you chose the colors you did.

Metal Heart

This is one two completely different sets I could make. One reminding me of Chicago, which is always what this song reminds me of, or the general one. This is the general one. Faint, cold, and very detached. These are the feelings I get when listening to this song. Beautiful, but empty. As if someone's standing in an empty room that consists of varying shades of grey. The blue is for the part "Blue smoke will take a very violent flight," which, while its not the same, I imagine the girl trapped in this empty space smokes cigarettes that produce a smokey blue haze.

♥ is Suicide

"Bodies" by the Smashing Pumpkins. I've been in love with it since I was 15 years old, and it hasn't died down an inch. it still brings chills down my spine when I hear it.

The skin colors, different because they are about two individual people. The red, a long time symbol for red and passion, and blood ("Love is suicide"). The black to represent the summer nights. The green is my favorite, a complementary addition to the red. To further illustrate the schism between the individuals in the song.

girlfriend in a coma

"Girlfriend in a Coma" by The Smiths. Muddy shades of brown ("Girlfriend in a coma, I know, I know, it's serious...") and a stark, bold light blue that represents the homg!hope ("Do you really think she'll pull through?") Brown and light blue is my favorite color combination, too. 8D

"Jelly Bones" by The Unicorns. Bright colors for the quirkiness of the song, I associate the bright pink and aquas with "jelly", too.

My latest journal entry is filled with song inspired palettes.

Cherish II

Cherish (Ryoji Remix) by NEWS. I based it off the colors for this set but tweaked it to fit the softer, more gentle version of the song. I scrapped the in-your-face green and stuck with pinks, purples and blues to try to reflect the steps to an epiphany. Like "Ah, what I've been looking for has been in front of my eyes all this time!"

As stated, named/designed after listening to Red Hot Chili Peppers grace my radio. :3 I just feel like bright oranges and reds kind of mix with the atmosphere of California.. which was the inspiration of their song, amirite? ♥

Get What You Deserve

Based on "Delilah" by The Dresden Dolls. The colors are the girl, Delilah: hopeful, prideful, vivid and ultimately worn out.

Still Alive
Kind His Mother Wore
Impossible Girl

This is just kind of how I have always veiwed the song. I wouldn't say I even have a favorite song, but this might rank up there, so.
